We understand that the loss of a loved one can be a difficult time. To assist you in settling the banking affairs of a deceased customer, the Bank has prescribed a process for settlement of eligible claims through its branches.
Settlement Timeline
Eligible claims will be settled within 15 calendar days from the date of receipt of complete and valid documents by the Bank.
Please note that incomplete, incorrect or invalid documents may result in a delay in settlement until the deficiencies are rectified. Any false or fraudulent documents will be dealt with in accordance with applicable laws and the Bank's instructions.

For settlement of eligible claims where a nominee or survivorship clause is registered, the following documents are required:

Death Certificate of the deceased depositor(s)

Claim amount below ₹15 lakh

And Either:

Annex IX – Declaration regarding the legal heir(s) by an independent person who is well known to the family of the deceased, is not a party to the claim and is acceptable to the Bank; OR

Legal Heir Certificate issued by the competent authority
Claim amount above ₹15 lakh
The following documents are required:

Claim amount up to ₹1 lakh
The following documents are required:

First Information Report (FIR) lodged with the Police

Final/Non-Traceable Report issued by the Police

Annex VI – Claim Form

OVD of the claimant(s)

Annex VII – Bond of Indemnity

Annex VIII – Letter of Disclaimer

Annex IX – Declaration (not required to be sworn before a Notary Public/Judge/Magistrate); OR
Legal Heir Certificate issued by the competent authority
Claim amount exceeding ₹1 lakh
Where the aggregate amount payable, including accrued interest, exceeds ₹1 lakh, the claimant shall, in addition to the prescribed claim documents, submit a declaration or certificate from a competent Court declaring the missing person as presumed dead (civil death).
How to Submit Your Claim
Claims are processed through the Bank's physical branches. Please visit the concerned branch with the applicable claim form and supporting documents.
Visit the Branch
Visit the concerned branch and submit the claim application along with the required documents.
Document Verification
The Bank will comprehensively verify the claim application and supporting documents.
Rectification
If any document or information is deficient, the claimant will be required to rectify it.
Claim Settlement
Eligible claims will be settled within 15 calendar days from receipt of complete valid documents.
